  5. 1.) The Oblong Box had a dead women in it, and Poe has lots of deaths of women in his life. Also, Mr.Wyatt cried a lot about the death of his wife, and Poe also cried alot about the death of his foster mom.

2.) Stage direction and enunciation are important because without then it would be very boring to watch, people will be confused, and there will be no expression and you wouldn't know if what they said is a happpy or sad thing.

3.) I think that acting out a play is more effective because you get more into what your reading and you pay more attention to whjat people are doing and saying, it's also a lot more fun.

  7. 1. Poe's life compared to "The Oblong Box" is Mr.Wyatt and Poe are both very sensitve when it comes to women, and they both cried when there loved ones died.

    2. Stage directions and enunciations are important to a preformance because when your on stage it's important to have your mouth ready, and when you enunciate it's easier to understand the emotion in the charecter's
    lines.

    3. In my opinoin it is easier to act out the story because you get a better idea of what is really going on throughout the story!

  8. 1. In all of Poe's life, he has seen death, especially with the women in his life: his mother, 'adopted' mother, first love, and, eventually, his wife. In the story, Mr. Wyatt's wife dies, so that gives you a connection to Poe's life. Also, somewhere in the dialogue of the play, it mentions as Mr. Wyatt's wife as beautiful. Poe always thought of his mother as beautiful, so that's another connection as well.

    2. Stage directions are important in a performance because if you don't have stage directions, then the tone of voice for the scene and the personality of the character is completely up to the actor/actress. The writer, who has complete understanding of the play, knows exactly how the characters should be talking, acting, and reacting to the plot of the play. If he/she places the stage directions in the script, the actor/actress knows exactly how to portrey the line and the audience would gain a better understanding of the play.

    3. I prefer acting a story out in a play over just reading it out loud because it gives you a visual repersentation of the story and you would probably see more in a visual repersentation instead of imagining the scene in your head.

  9. 1. While connecting Poe's life and the Oblong Box I have come to a conclusion that they are similar. Why? Well, because in both of them a woman dies and the lover of the woman is very sad and weeps over her death.

    2. Without stage direction and enunciation in a performance it would be very dull and you would not be able to tell what was going on at the time. Yet, with stage directio nand enunciation it brightens up the performance and people then become more intrigued.

    3. In my opinion acting out the story is more effective. By just reading a story you don't really get to see the actions happening and you could very easily get confused. On the other hand when people are acting out a story you get to see everything happen right in front of you and it's much easier to follow along.

  10. 1. The story of po's life is very similar to "The Oblong Box" because the main character's wife died, so did poe's. And in the story, the main character treated women with respect

    2. Stage directions and enunciation are important because it adds feeling to the play, so it is not bland and monotone.

    3. I think acting out a play is more effective because you're not just skimming through pages, you're saying it out loud and when you say it with stage directions, it helps you understand the tone and meaning.

  11. 1. A way that Poe's life is like "The Oblong Box" is that it shows the characters and their respect towards women. Also it connects because it's a very sad story.

    2. The stage directions are important because it can help the actor/actress with the line and the way that they should say it.

    3. In my opinion acting out the play is more affective because it helps us with what is going on in the story, and it's more fun than just reading the story out loud.

  12. A way that "The Oblong Box" connects to Poe's life is that he too was also connected closely to many people in his life who ended up dying and Poe still being alive. He was around to be sadened by other people's death just like how the husband was sadened by his wife's death. He kind of showed how much pain he was in when someone he was close to died through his characters witnessing a death.

Stage directions and enunciation are important to a performance because it gives the full effect and makes it easier for your audience to get the concept of the play or skit that you are performing. It allows the audience to enjoy the performance more too.

I think that acting out the play is more effective than just reading it, because if you just read it it's not active and you get bored easily and don't pay attention.

  14. 1. Inside the box was Mr. Wyatt's dead wife. When the box was going away Mr. Wyatt insisted that he had it. This connects to Edgar Poe's life because he respected women and he had people die in his life. He probably knew how Mr. Wyatt felt.
    2. Stage directions and enunciation are important to a performance to show how the characters feel and for the audience to understand what they are saying.
    3. I think it is more affected to reading a story than acting out the play. The reason I think this is because it's not as...choppy. I feel as though there are more details in stories than plays. Also, stories use strong verbs which helps create a vivid picture in the reader's mind.
